Anyone tried Harley Benton "Valuestrings" electric strings?

They do them in 11s, my gauge of choice, and mad cheap:

So cheap I'll have to give em a try at least. Might find the 52 on the low E a touch heavy (normally would want a 48 or 50 maybe) but I might even like the bit of extra tension for that. 5 sets in the basket I reckon, and maybe a set or 2 of the Darco 11s (which I already know I like a lot) to compare.

Anyone tried the Pyramid brand electric strings by the way? They also look interesting and excellent value. Pure Nickel says one of the the reviewers.

My father in law used them as he's a beginner and didn't want to put expensive strings on.

After I put some fender bullets on as part of a setup , even he said how crap they were

Cheers! I guess there has to be some element of getting what one pays for. Still putting in an order for some 11s set from Thomann, so may as well include a set of the cheapos - if only to prove that point to myself.

You know, next time I have to do an order I might give them a shot. 86p, what else am I gonna do with that? I can't even buy an ice cream from the ice-cream man for that these days. EDIT: Hmmm according to what FTLOG said, maybe I'd be better off with 86% of a 99.

If you are ordering from Thomann, slap a packet or three of the pyramid strings on to save carriage.

at less than £3 a set they sound very good and last a long time. You can afford to change them for each gig at that price.

Already planning to do that ES but cheers for the recommend re those. I'll probably be ordering a good selection of various brands, just for the fun of it - had not realised how cheap Thomann did strings at before. Will have to include a set of the 86p ones - worth it if only to know why I won't be buying any more...
