So, I'm just starting my 2nd build project. I enjoyed putting together Jooky's Strappado and am grateful for all his help and Ash's advice for pickups.
I picked up a Tele Deluxe body of the bay and a neck arrived today. The body is being prepared for a nitro finish and I've been scouring everywhere for a decent colour. Many diehards say it has to be black, but I really want something different - blue/green?
Anyone seen a Deluxe in non standard colour and thought 'cooer missus that looks right nice'?
Thoughts very much appreciated.

Boss, any good web resources for solid instructions on sparkly paint application?

Good site, loads of tips and meant to be a top fella.
They're right!
Although surf green would look nice, with a white pearl pickguard.
He is, sterling bloke. Ta tho fella.
Have a look at my facebook thinghy here mate, no real help with a sparkle finish though, I've Recently finished 2 for Marc at mojopickups and a couple for Jooky Mark...Best method of application without a doubt it a 2.0 tip gun, drop 2 sizes of flake in there mixed with clear or tinted clear as close to your flake colour as possible then get ready to clear coat until you can clear coat no more...Takes a hell of a lot of clear to bury the flakes and rubbing through is always a possibility.
I've tried a flake buster gun and sprinkling it on with a shaker, the only issue using these 2 methods is the flake will take even longer to bury below the clear, and I mean an age to complete, I'm just finishing another job for Jooky in a flake finish called violet chameleon which is a little bit mental but that again has taken a huge amount of clear to bury the flake. You'll never do it with aerosols in my opinion, unless you spend a small fortune on paint.
