I'd probably suggest that this is something that has been happening since, well, time began and all that. Nowt new. Universe is chocka full of stuff booting it around on a molecular level.

Refreshing that 'we' as the Master Species can realise from time to time that 'we' don't know it all.

I just find it interesting that we can look in detail at pictures of living things that didn't evolve on earth. Like images from Hubble, I feel quite privileged as this is stuff that my grandparents couldn't enjoy. It's amazing stuff but completely inevitable, of course. We're advancing all the time but this type of thing puts it off the scale. It's bloody marvellous.

Poo.

Ever since there's been people in space there's been poo in space and it floats out there... what if a few cells survive re-entry? Then you've discovered cells at an altitude that no organism could manage and boom scientific discovery that isn't.

Otherwise, discovery of extra terrestrial life is a disappointment - no 4 armed invaders, no sexy green girls... just a handful of cells.

I suspect the fact that it isn't the top story on all news channels suggests it's not commonly accepted that it is what they say it is.

Thing about the hubble pictures it states that everything we see is moving away from us, surely that should tell us something about how the universe see's us?
