@Samzadgan asked me about this today, so I thought I'd just throw some clips out.
First clip is from our track 'Wake':

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/630473/GearDemos/Drew_BlackIronBreakdown.mp3Effectively what I go for is a sort of Eventide 'crystals' effect but without the pitch shifting. So you get these undulations below the main guitar tone, and their strength kinda depends on how distorted the amp is. In the Wake clip, the amp is clean... in the BIP clip, the amp is set to a crunch without boost tone.
If you listen to the albums, you can hear I double tracked these parts. It particularly obvious with the BIP section, because the delays jump around the stereo field creating this wobbly almost dubsteppy kind of sound.
You can't get this effect with just one delay, because it requires the push and pull of the two delays. It doesn't work in parallel either, they have to be in series and the reverse delay has to go first.
So that's it really. Kind of obvious when you think about it.

Did you have the repeat time on them set the same or double / half on the second ?
only got to listen to those tracks today @drew_fx...on the wake song, it took me a while to hear the reverse delay..i guess when its stacked it washes it out a little, which is cool...i adds a lot of space to the sound.
alot more pronounced on the scond track...but again because its stacked it takes the edge of the weirdness. I like it.
In the times i've used it, its been reverse on its own, and i just didnt see the useability of it...but in the context of stacking, its pretty cool.
Why not?
Doesn't work for you/your material or just plain sounds bad?
