is there an obvious go to pedal for reverse ?

L6 Echo Park?

The DD6, DD7 and TC Flashback all have decent reverse modes.

    I've always loved this demo,

    might be overkill though

  • Repeater has one, too.

Don't be suckered into paying mega bucks for the Danelectro one!

  • I really like the Echo Park. Very versatile. H9 also has this

The DD7 is my favourite. I really like the backwards echo setting on the Hazarai Memory Man, but that's because you can muck about with the decay and rate without it going all digital glitch, like most reverse delay settings.

For just general reverse stuff, the Boss is my vote, though. My DD7 is almost permanently in reverse mode.

I guess the old idea of buying used so that if you want to flip again you don't lose out applies a here

Boss pedals generally have quite a set price second hand, and usually are easy enough to sell.
Echo parks are getting cheaper on the used market too which might help you out (man they are heavy though)

Timefactors/superdelays etc might be hard to sell on again I spose.

All obvious points, but worth bearing in mind

The Echo Park is a terrible pedal. I would avoid at all costs personally.

  • I like the reverse on my Flashback. I'v always wanted to try the EH Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai too, the reverse functions on that look really good.

Nux Timecore is worth a try for £25. I use one for the solo on "I'm Only Sleeping".

  • Zoom G3x as you can do a neat trick when you blend in the reversed wet signal with the expression pedal and get a seamless thing going on. Very King Crimson.

I use trhe m13 reverse delay for the give it away solo

@You have to play two seconds before you want a sound and come out two seconds before the solo ends but once you get used to that....
