Bare wood guitar bodies

BigMonkaBigMonka Frets: 1763
Hi all, can anyone point me in the direction of guitars with bare/oiled wooden bodies. I was hoping to get a fender 72 reissue thinline in the near future and so went to have a look at the thinline range but was really disappointed at the thick plasticy laquer they were all covered with - the guitars may as well have been made of wood-effect plastic :-(
On the other hand they had a custom shop reliced tele which had a really nice matt painted finish, it was well out of my price range so I'm hoping that the answer isn't just that I need to spend more!

  • 93 Hamer Diablo with black hardware  - has just an oil finish which I top up once a year as it tends to wear around the pots.

@MoANjAm what oil do you use? I have a telecaster body I want to oil finish, but I'm not sure what to use.
    Karma......

Boiled Linseed oil will do nicely. Also good for finger boards after you've given them a clean or light rubbing down with wire wool.
