So I've been thinking about a Satch JVM review. What sort of things would you want to see and hear?

quite interested in the 'just breaking up' sounds, seem quite difficult to dial in on modern Marshalls imo.

    Y-fronts. Clean first, then crunchy.

Would be cool to have some stuff that people don't tend to think of when demo'ing. Like crank the amp then mute the strings, how much noise is there? Obviously held chord and switching channels would be a good example when comparing against the JVM410h.

Noise gate characteristics would be quite interesting too, like high gain sound play some stabs with stops in between to show how the cut off feels, Set to a decent value then see how far you can roll the guitar volume down before it cuts off tails, that kinda stuff.

Yeah, if you're gonna do it in Y-fronts make sure they are clean first.

Have you tried the new Joe Bonamassa y-fronts yet?  Apparently they're stiched on the same machine that used to stitch them in the factory.  They also found some old cloth left over from the 50s in a skip out back so they also have that lovely patina of age.  Though if someone can't stretch to that I find the budget ones from primark in a 5 pack make a great base for modding.  :-S
