Amazon DIY kit build

What's Hot
Following some thought about building my own guitar, I thought I might give one of these a go... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00K2NQ22U/ref=s9_simh_gw_p267_d10_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1FS47BQ5RH64RB1W5GDT&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455344027&pf_rd_i=468294
Has anyone attempted one?  Any advice?  I have minimal woodworking skills/tools, so thought set-in neck best option.  I also have 'upgraded' LP pups etc that I can transfer to this.
Any help gratefully received, all the best, Nick

It certainly looks like a nice canvas on which to be a little creative, and, if the pics are anything to go by, it's a step above the really budget kits.

Fret dressing and nut work will probably be the biggest challenge, and have the biggest influence on how much you enjoy the final result.

It looks pretty with that veneer :)

I always though that a bolt on neck was easiest, but I don't see why you couldn't start off with a set neck kit. Besides, LPs have to have a set set neck IMO - I personally can't take a bolt on LP seriously for some reason.

If you do go ahead with it be sure to run a thread here, you'll get all sorts of help and advice and I'd be very interested to watch it come together.

I don't like a LP with a bolt on either; I have a bitsa one and it doesn't feel 'right'.  I have a real one too, a Zoot, which feels great so set neck it is.  And by buying a LP kit I have something to compare against.  I want to try staining the veneer top too, so hopefully it will give the experience I need before opting for something more specialist/custom made that I would like later.
If I go ahead, I will definitely create a build thread here  :)

I think the most important question is when does it arrive?

Let me know how this kit is quality wise, they have some nice looking ones on Amazon, I fancy the electric resonator on there.

Not tried one, but they do look pretty good..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.
