Seeking Thread On Doing Inlays

There was a thread a while back that I can't find. It showed the use of some sort of mini router to make the cavities for doing things like headstock inlays. It's the mini router that I'm interested in - it seemed to be a Dremel type of tool with a height adjustable plunge thingy added to it, and used really small cutters for the detail.

Any pointers?

Pretty sure I've got one knocking around somewhere. Might be a bit in my 2014 Challenge build also. I'll track one down later this eve and drop you a link.

Hi @Nomad and @TTony

Yes - I cover it in Page 2 of my (to quote @TTony) 'epic' tome on modding the offset in the 2014 Challenge.  There's quite a bit of detail about halfway down that page.

Couldn't actually find the original thread in the Making and Modding section but it is here

Don't know, @TTony, whether you are able to duplicate or copy that part only of the thread to use in your sticky?  It would save me a re-write or the poor FB devils having to attempt War and Peace everytime they wanted to refer.  Let me know - if it's too hard I'll do a copy and paste of the inlay section only.

Actually @TTony, I don't think it will take too long for me to do it as a separate post.  I'll get onto it right away.  

In the meantime, @Nomad , I think the detail you were after can be found by following the above link

Stewmac do them from the States, but this is a UK supplier...it's essentially the same thing.  They are WELL worth £38!!
