How about a nice SG Classic with P90s... its actually a great halfway house between your Tele and Casino - no it is, really. An SG is a bright, yet ballsy sound, couple it with P90s (a la Casino) and you get a rich palette of tones to play with. Couple that with superb upper fret access and uber cool looks, it will make you play better and make you more attractive to whichever sex appeals to you...

It just so happens that if you come and press £475 into my hot little hand, you could own this beauty....

    Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever.

  • I'm amazed that no-one has made the "send me your £500 and I'll happily spend it for you..." joke yet.

As a serious answer I have recently become a G&L fanboy. Check them out.

  • What about an ishibashi used Japanese fender? Once international postage and import duty has been taken into account, you should still get change out of £500 if you buy a 55000 yen guitar (because postage is about £100 on top of that and import duty is another 25% on the guitar and delivery). But 55000 yen buys you a hell of a lot of Japanese Fender.

Look at the black, tax exempted prices.

I almost bought a new Epi Casino. They're alright, but they ain't worth 450 notes, or whatever they charge for them new.

350 maybe, which is where looking second hand comes in, if you're patient.

I'm assuming you might have tried one though so your opinion may differ.

Guitar Guitar are currently offering 12 months 0% credit, which may help you make a decision...

    $700CA.

A very nice Canadian Godin.  If you're moving in 6 mths, it makes so much sense to wait.  One less thing to worry about shipping, and more choice / better prices when you get there.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Surely that's a damn good reason to get as much credit as possible :)

Exactly! Buy all the gear you want, give your name as G. Osbourne c/o 11 Downing St, then do your runner.

Mind you by the time the bailiffs catch on it'll be the door of Mr E Balls they'll be knocking on.

A mate of mine's dad pissed off abroad to avoid paying significant tax on a large inheritance, and cos he had no intention of ever coming back he maxed out his cards and took out a load of loans too. Not saying it's right (it isn't), but it's tempting.

Have you thought of this really far-out idea, you go to a guitar shop, and see what they have for £XXX, see if any catch your eye, if not, walk out and try again on another day, try any which you like the look of (with an amp similar to yours if possible) and if it sounds and feels good when played, that's the one to buy.

    Or get a Jackson......
