I have 1 - matchless HC30 and 2x12. I also have an ehx caliber 22 but that doesn't really count!..
I presume your ehx caliber 22 is your emergency backup for gigs/alternative to lugging around another amp -any good? @moe_zambeek

Yes - emergency backup. I've only tried it once, just after I bought it...since then it's been in my spares bag utouched!

I recall it sounded reasonable but nowt special when I did

@moe_zambeek I expected as much but was curious of the opinion of someone with real world experience

I have five (six if you count my little Vox Mini 3):

    Vox AD120VTX 2x12 combo with VC12 controller plus AD212 2x12 extn cab

    Marshall Mk1 Valvestate 8080 1x12 combo

    Marshall JCM2000 DSL401 1x12 combo

    Laney VC30-210 2x10 combo plus GS112VE 1x12 extn cab

Laney Cub 12R 1x12 (upgraded with Celestion Vintage 30)15w combo

Every one of my amps gets played regularly and each one has been used at different gigs. At home it often depends on my mood - the VC30 gets played at home less simply because of volume and I have to wait until rest of family is out.

For gigging it depends on type of music and size of gig. The Marshall 8080 was my main gigging amp for years and is still my go to back-up amp. The Cub gets used at small club gigs and the rest at bigger gigs.

Each amp has its charms with something different to offer than the others and each has its limitations. I've learned how to get the best out of each one. It is nice to have a little bit of choice.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Well, I've had 23 amps in total I think.

    Currently I have three.

    My CAA OD50, JCM800 and 1987x

So I seem to have quite a lot of Marshall style gain covered.... :/

Ive owned some real stunning amps, but these three never seem to budge...

I shan't ever sell any of them either.

It'll just be incomings as and when I can afford it/deem it necessary.

If be hard pushed to find a better amp for my tastes than the CAA anyway.

I do find myself hankering after maybe about 4/5 amps.

I've got a 70's Teisco Audition practice amp, about 3 watts, everything sounds the same through it from obscure 1960's Japanese single coil things to Les Pauls but it isn't intrusive to the rest of the household or neighbours.

I've just found a Peavey Backstage 10w that I forgot I had so had it repaired today and can't remember how I acquired it in the first place either, it just 'appeared' in my garage a few years ago. I hope someone leaves a suitcase with a million pounds in it in my garage too, that would really be useful. The Peavey sounds great and it may only be 10 watts, but they are really big watts.

I also have a HH IC100 which I almost never use as it's just so loud that I rarely have the knobs over 4 so what's the point for someone who plays in their living room? I'll get around to selling it one day.

I have two Orange 100w cabinets that have been sitting in my parents garage for decades, when I was a kid I'd bring home my school's 200w multichannel PA amplifier in the holidays and hook it all up and play it all on 10 in the garden. A friend who lived half a mile away could hear me. Probably quite selfish considering we lived in a semi detached with neighbours on all sides.

Main gigging amp is an H&K Puretone. No nonsense high quality clean amp.

Recently purchased a Blackstar ID:20 for pissing about with. Great fun and currently writing a review.

I have 9 amps (of which one is a dedicated stereo head for my keyboards but the 2 off 100W Celestion driver cabs that accompany it are great for BASS too). However, all but my 1972 Woolworths Audition amp get used as and when I fancy a specific session. BUT the Woolworths Auduition amp is a 'separates' design and came with a voluminous birch ply ported cab for a 1x12 and that gets used all the rime, as now contains a V30 and makes a great additional cab to route out to instead of any other amp's stock speaker or as an additional 1x12 to have linked in tandem.

Wow, I am worn out just describing... At least I can justify owning them all I suppose.

I have my VHT Sig X, which is my main amp currently. The Diezel D-Moll which was my main amp but is currently a really expensive backup! Then there is the Kemper, which I use for home recording.

  • laney VC30 212, main gigger

cub 12r , some gigs and jams

peavey bandit 112 , general knock about and rehearsals

orange micro terror, taken to gigs as a backup, and used at rehearsals sometimes thru a 112 cab of unknown origins

kustom practise amp, used at home for, guess what, practising.

I keep thinking I should cut down, make space but they all get used and enjoyed.
