I'll be following this and will commence operation sweet talk
    Me too…
    So far I'm using:
    1. The £ is up against the €, making now a good time to buy from a European based business.
    2. I have €50 of Thomann vouchers to put up against the cost, making it really quite affordable.
    3. It's my birthday in a couple of weeks & you STILL haven't bought me a xmas present yet!
    4. It's actually cheaper than the Build Your Own Kit from last year, and THIS guitar will (hopefully) be functional from the start!

Come on Thomann! Give me a No.5!

(as I've mentioned before, baby #2 is pretty imminent, so Mrs LostSon is crazy hormonal isn't at her most reasonable… and space & money in my life are REALLY at a premium!)

I've settled on my design now though. A Te52 becomes an Esquire with Eldrich wiring mod (failing that I'll get a TE30… same plan).
    Fingers crossed!

Nice one @ToneControl you're not helping the GAS!
re the black fingers, it could just be that they are ancient and it's nickel oxide from between the windings, no? That or you're cursed to die tonight. Who knows?

Usually it's the staining on the fretboard... Is it rosewood? If it is then lots of companies stain the 'board and that usually rubs off in the first few hours of playing.

If it's defo the strings then they'll have been on a while!

The fretboard is Ebanol - so a plastic like synthetic. I love it to pieces on my Cort Curbow bass actually!

Am I the only one who's looked at the various resonator options? The one w/ a mini-humbucker and the bigger body here.

I’m probably gonna have a go at this ...... unless I lose interest waiting for the off! Anyway, as a heads-up, if I get something I’m definitely gonna strip the paint off and do some kind of relic finish. Anyone else brave/stoopid enough to want to do the same? I realise that I will court derision from some quarters, but hey, it’s no different to when I used to date ginger girls!

I went out with a ginger girl once, but I only found out when I got her knickers off. Blonde up top, comical down below. Good job I managed to stifle the laugh or I'd have got nowt but a black eye that night!

For only £15 difference I think the one I posted is much nicer and with more mod options.

I'd play it on my lap, so square neck would be better
