OSX apps for making videos

Can anyone recommend any apps for Apple OSX for video editing? I don't want anything fancy, just want to be able to make some vids for youtube. Need more fetures than iMovie, but don't need Final cut X if you catch my drift :-)
And you know what else? Those safety lids on bottles of sanatogen. There I am trying to get the lid off and along comes my six year old and says "there you are daddy" and it's off in a Jiffy. Someone's gonna get hurt.

    Lightworks is an impressive NLE that was used to cut The Kings Speech among others. It seems fairly simple to use too. Lightworks Free has all the power of Lightworks, allowing you to export only to MPEG-4 (Web, YouTube and Vimeo) at a maximum resolution of 720p. Seems worth a shot for free for your purposes. Ive never used it myself but have colleagues who do whose opinions I trust.


    Im not sure if adobe still sell premiere elements but that would be good for you too. used to be around £50
