I ..... er ..... even bought a Don Johnson album once because SRV contributed one (or maybe two?) solos.
I've read that's the most valuable album ever released.

Apparently there was only one copy ever sold....

    Zappa on Muffin Man

Clapton's solo was the ONLY thing I liked about this:

Janet Jackson/Black Cat - Nuno Bettencourt, the extended part of the solo from 2:44 :

Another one from Nuno, this time showing Kirk how it's done from 2:41 :

[quote="fretfinder;519837"]Clapton's solo on Holy Mother - much of it is the same bent note but it's rather glorious imho. Solo starts about 3.14

That is possibly my favourite guitar solo of all time! Thanks for posting.

    EC was on great form
    In the mid-80s:

As always I find EC's playing fantastically well suited to the song.

I'm not a great fan of the tone from this period but when its played so tastefully then it's ok

Can't think of any particular track but I like most of Mick Taylor's solos. And pretty much anything of Stevie Ray Vaughan.I also thought Bill Harkleroad (Zoot Horn Rollo) was pretty inventive.Oh, and Robby Krieger. When I think about it there are too many too list.Don't know who played it but I like the guitar on 'She Came in Through the Bathroom Window'. Possibly George Harrison.
Another Mick Taylor fan here. Highlights for me are his slide solo on Love In Vain from Germany Yer Ya Yas Out and the Santana-y bit on Can You Hear Me Knockin. That's a good example because the first part contains my all time favourite Keith Richards riff as well. A track of two halves!

Bought this album, thinking some guitarists would be great some not so good, but I got it completely wrong. Neal Schon, David Gilmour and Richie Sambora really surprise me in their taste tone and technique. Whereas Gary Moore, Brian Setzer and some others were quite poor.
    David Gilmour shines here!

Also love this solo by Robin Trower, subtle as f*** and a tone to die for. Solo starts about 2:55

Russ Parrish, better known as Satchel from Steel Panther, at 2:25 in this otherwise rather bland pop-punk track.

Two copies.  And gosh.  I am that proud(?) other owner.

A quick look tells me there are two SRV solos on the album.  There's also one by Dweezil Zappa, on a different track of course.  There are also appearances by Dickey Betts and Ronnie Wood.
