SOLO of the Month #1 - Chat

So another new challenge here and this time it is the SOLO of the Month!

This is the 1st SOLO of the Month (SotM) Challenge, being run by @Antique_Guitars and @TTony.

The idea is that we give you a new backing track to solo over every month, the backing track will be a maximum of 1.5mins long and you will have to download the track from soundcloud and record your solo over the top of it and then submit it to us.

The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until 24th March.

All you have to do is ...

• Download the backing track and record you solo over the top of it.
  
• Challenge opens on the 1st of every month, and closes on the 24th of the month.
• Voting opens on the 25th of the month, and closes on the last day of the month, when the winner will be announced.

The tracks will be uploaded to our SoundCloud account and saved in a playlist that will be linked below

Very nice backing......I have a few ideas for this one already.

I worked this out as being 81 bpm for anyone who likes that kinda thing.

Love that, well done. When I heard the backing I thought it was screaming out for some Lukather type lead and yours definately has some of that in there. I think I might have to sit this one out!

I was thinking D minor pentatonic for the first part then C minor pent for the second part at around 48 seconds.

I've even managed to download the backing track to my computer!!

Thankfully I do not have the tech to record my rubbish attempts!

Click on the SoundCloud logo on the player window at the top of this page. This will take you to the backing track on the SoundCloud site. Then, just press the 'download' button (below the wave image on the right).

I don't think you need to sign up to SoundCloud to download it. I certainly didn't need to sign in to my account in order to.

I'm purposely not listening to any entries until I've done mine, but I've listened to the backing track and I think it's a good'un.

Just email to the address in the original post. No need to sign up to anything (other than the Fretboard of course).
