I do like a bit of audio fettling where you can hear isolated guitar tracks. Here's one I quite like which is the solo from "Freebird".

I've just searched and found this.  It is actually a lot more fizzy than I imagined.  Further goes to show it is the big picture that matters not the sound in isolation.

Wow that's great to hear the Vai one, cheers gfb and ddl i think I know that track so well that there was not even a hemisemiquaver that I don't know like my mother, but really wonderful to hear it in isolation. How does that software work? Do you subtract the backing track from the full song?
