Not only are Led Zeppelin massively influential as a group, but as individual musicians they all feature heavily in top ten most influential performer of their own instrument (or as a vocalist).
Here's the scenario -
You're Peter Grant. It's 1969 and the band are about to start work on the 'II' album. One night, totally sober, you are visited by a vision (whatever floats your spiritual boat here) which says that the band are doomed but will be go on to be bohemoths of rock providing you drop one member from playing on records and live. He tells you that whomever you choose will continue to contribute to ideas and writing but will not play any part in the recordings or live performances To add a bit more urgency he pulls out a cute puppy and tells you he will kill the puppy if you haven't made a choice by his next visit.
So who's it going to be?

You certainly could not replace Plant's stage presence and amazing (unique) vocals, nor could you replace Boham, possibly the best rock drummer ever and I wont even mention Page.
"You don't know what you've got till the whole thing's gone. The days are dark and the road is long."
(Then we can start working on the songwriting)

You can't. It's like taking peaches away from cream, salt away from vinegar etc. He'd be better not to have hired the gangsters instead of security in 1977 tbh.
Fwiw none of them were Jimmy's first choice anyway. (Marriott,Terry Reid, The Ox, Moon & BJ Wilson were all approached first and they're just the ones we know about).
