They seem to be forgetting that when you buy the Grolsch ones you get free beer...

I believe the correct term for this is "unventing".

They must be better, they say fender on them!

I'd still take the ones with the free beer too.

AS the bottle Grolsch gets harder to find, I've discovered that you can get nice Olive oil from Tesco with the same things on.

The import Grolsch bottles are still out there in lots of places, I get a crate every so often so I can have the bottles for homebrew.   It may help that I work for the brewery so get it on my product allowance.

I did suggest that they should advertise specifically to guitar players

I can get bottled Grolsch in the garage along the road. I have Grolsch straplocks on a couple of guitars now.

I also bought a microbrewery today and a box of 12 Grolsch-type bottles! New replacement washers are much cheapness.

Unfortunately I found you can't get them with lard.

There's a big choice of beers over here which have that kind of closure, usually the washers are red, but I've also a small pile of dark blue ones.

I bought some. I don't like Grolsch, it tastes like piss.

I think the tone on these is really great. My mids cut through more, and the treble sounds less thin.

just because you don't, doesn't mean you can't

Come back Gibson, all is forgiven.  Fender really has lost interest in doing anything new.

Maybe Gibson will strike back with things that look not unlike those plastic things you used to get with loaves of bread to keep the bag sealed.

Although given many of their latest offerings it'll be in a hideous colour and it'll be made of something that is to plastic what baked maple is to rosewood.
