The whole bit on latency is very interesting, it really makes sense of the whole debate IMO, including engineers perspective vs musicians (I was going to say ~ vs human perspective ~ but that would have been unfair, especially having been an engineer in various capacities through my career, but you probably know what I mean)

    On the subject of soundchecking in big empty halls, etc., I remember a quote from one of the guys in Fairport Convention (can't remember precisely who) where he calls punters 'MABs' - 'Mobile Acoustic Baffles'. Spot on!
