I was at the jam night last night, and ended up coming home with more guitars than I went with. £10 lighter in the wallet and a black CAE squire strat! I would say that's a bargain. It needs a bloody good clean up and setup and it has a neck break, quite a bad one but even so I plugged it in and I was surprised how good it sounded. We'll chuffed! Expect a 'need start parts in exchange for pedals' thread very soon

  Got to love a good bargain!

  I've thought of pimping out my Squier Strat as well.  Right now, I just can't see putting hundreds of dollars in pickups and labor into a $60 guitar.  I love the color, and the wooden bits are great- it's just the electronics that cry for an upgrade.  For that money, I may just as well buy a nice MIM Hss Strat, and be done with it.

( besides, I need to save my GAS money for that Classic 30...)
