Fluffy on the board, spiky on the pedal?

Is this the generally accepted route? I've always just bashed on whichever way.

  • Diago boards certainly come that way, although when I first made a DIY board I did it the other way round (then it became a pain as all the second hand pedals I bought had to have their Velcro changed).

  • Fluffy on pedal for me. Not that it makes much difference (unless you're using a carpet-covered board).

Fluffy on pedal means you can use them off-board without them sticking to the carpet.

  • I've always done it that way for the main reason that the soft side is easier to clean/hoover.

Now that makes sense steamabacus. After just selling my board and awaiting a new one I have found that issue out, but other than changing board I'd never do that.

I do fluffy on board. But the downside is that if you do lots of rearranging, the fluffy side gets chewed up easier.

  • Fluffy on the board - that way you don't get loads of crap stuck to it (dog hair, etc).
