This is embarrassing ... Can anyone help me figure out the chords to this song?

Hey guys, 

I'm embarrassed to let you all know that my ear is this bad, that I can't figure out how to play this song by ear - would anyone be so kind as to tell me what chords are being played? 

I'm a primary school teacher and I'm trying to think of ways to pad out our class assembly! So I'm thinking we could do this at the end to show we've been learning about similes! 

Help much appreciated!

Verse is just A's and D's chorus is A and D's with an F sharp minor and E at the end mate pretty much

Thanks Danny, Hah I did pick out the A and D, I think i must have been missing the F sharp minor and that just made me think I have the D wrong too - my ears are embarrassing!

You can also play an E on the last 2 beats of the verses.
