I'm interested but..... I've put a deposit down on a Super Duke GT, so doing mileage on my current XCx is a no-no. The GT isn't due til the end of May :-(

    Nice.
    The SDGT looks amazing.
Why are you moving on from the XCX? (Having just done the same myself, also for a KTM).

As the long term test report in this month's Bike magazine said: "It's an utterly capable all-rounder that you can use, abuse and rely on, but unfortunately the 800 also doesn't make us go "wow" any more - it doesn't tangle your inside or constantly impress....".

I guess it was always going to be so, coming from 5 years on the 1200 Multistrada - and with hindsight I was in a rush to get rid of it (late on I had an expensive part go wrong).

I'm searching that "wow" again, and having ridden the SD-R I'm hoping the GT will be the one.

I came to the same conclusion with the XCX.
Did you try the KTM 1190 Adventure?

I didn't try the 1190A. Based on having had 2 1200GS' and the Multistrada I decided I wanted more of the "sports" and less of the "tourer", but without going having to go back to a race rep.

Well, I think a FB rideout is required.

Who in this thread is close enough to be able to get to either H's Cafe (OX10 7LY)?
I propose that as a good departure point for a ride through the Cotswolds.

Once I get an idea of who is up for it I'll propose a few dates and see if it is a goer.
I can lead the ride, or if someone else wants to do it I don't mind tailgunning.

It shouldn't be a hell for leather ride and I guess we should make it 125 friendly as there are a few people here on those bikes.
    What do you all reckon?

    When?

Well, that is a couple of us.
    How about sometime in May?

Saturday or Sunday better for people?

Either is good for me, although I can't do the first week (2nd onwards) as I'm sodding off for a week to the Black Forest.

How about the 15th? It's a Sunday. 10 am start. If it is pissing down then we should reschedule.

15th May is in my diary. I hope to be able to make it but please could somebody give me a nudge nearer the time if I haven't popped my head in the door for a while.

It doesn't look as though I'll be able to make this one :-(
I'm still haggling (trade in price) with the shop about a new bike, and may end up without a bike for 4 to 6 weeks if the deal does go through.

If it all falls through and I still have the XC, count me in.

No worries- we will have more of them.

FWIW, you shouldn't have to give up your bike early if you are waiting for a new one to arrive.
    I never have.

... and a few hundred miles added to the mileage of your XCX shouldn't make a difference to the trade in.

Ok, a reminder for this- (thanks to BenSirAmos reminding me on LB forum).

Setting off from H's Cafe Sunday at 10am, taking in the Cotswold sights, Charlbury, Woodstock, Chipping Norton, Burford.

Was thinking of doing lunch at either Burford or Bourton on the Water and arriving back at H's on the way back sometime in the afternoon.

Is everyone still up for this?
