Does your THR10 hiss with the gain up

Just noticed if I turn the gain up on the clean and crunch, I notice a fair bit of hiss, I take it this is normal ( not really played around with it yet).

not that Ive noticed -  its a -C  so may not be as "gainy" as a standard one

Not majorly, no.  But any amp will, to a degree?

Does yours have the two pin (between the adaptor and the plug) or three pin plug?  The latter was designed to reduce the noise.

Mine is the non hum version ( 3 pin plug).

 

I think I've sussed it, the noise gate was not set up by the previous owner. I reset back to factory presets and unless I wack the gain up it all appears normal.

 

The hiss I'm referring to can easily be duplicated if you have the original factory settings :

User memory one (Clean) turn gain all the way up, gentle hiss

User memory three (Lead ) big hiss !
