Today, I might actually pick up a guitar for the first time...

...in over twelve months.  I've not even handled any of my guitars, let alone played them, for over a year.  The band split last Autumn and I haven't had any urge to play anything at all since.  I don't think I've ever left it this long before.

I wonder if I can still play ?  Seriously !  It's going to feel bloody weird, I'm sure.
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
Also chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them.

    Do it. It'd be a shame to let the ability slip completely.

    I've got a mate who has just started again after 10 years or so of not playing and he says a lot of his muscle memory has gone. He was a very good player too.

    A year may not be too bad.

    I did that a very long time ago, now I am learning all over again.
    It is a fantastic new journey to be on, but all those lost years.  :(
    Keep the passion alive.
    Pick up, plug in, enjoy the afternoon, and lift your soul  :)

    Oh, and BTW if you want to contribute your experiences to my ~new love for the guitar~ discussion, it would be great to hear from you, and sorry to thread jack.  No pressure, but if you want to share you are very welcome.

    A year? Pffff! It was 29 years in my case. Mind you, I'm really shite, so get back in the saddle Emp!

    Getting my son to do anything worthwhile is a struggle, and he's constantly whinging about stuff, so it's a distinct possibility.

    Getting my son to do anything worthwhile is a struggle, and he's constantly whinging about stuff, so it's a distinct possibility.

    It's about time you gave him a good telling off, and gave him some discipline then. Maybe if you'd done that years ago his flooring would be done.........

    Thinner than the jack plate by the looks of things.

    (sandwiched and glued, I imagine).
