What's Hot
Just bagged an Olympic White Road Worn Strat off ebay.  I already have a RW Tele that I really love so I was hoping for more of the same from the Strat, and I'm not disappointed.  The neck feels great, its a rosewood fingerboard.  Just a couple of small mods.....well it would be rude not to.  Scratch plate is changed for a torty, and I bought a screening kit from Charles Guitars.......well just the paint kit actually.  I managed to get the ally plate for £8.50 inc postage off ebay.  The difference in sound, i.e. no deafening buzzing is remarkable.  Don't know why I've never done this before.......had Strats in one form or another for the last 30 odd years, lol.

I'll post a couple of pics when the sun comes out.
No Darling....I've had that ages.

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

The relic/road work look isn't to everybody's taste but I really like it, although the newer versions are less beaten up and probably better for it.

That's a bit optimistic, surely? I think we have a day of sun forecast for late summer 2025... probably by the time that comes round it'll have changed to more rain, though.

  • ...LOL.

Nice Geetarrr there fnpt.  Must say I was so surprised by the difference the screening made to the quality of the amplified sound.  And all for £15   :)
