Timmy Toggle Switch - Where's Yours Set?

not_the_djnot_the_dj Frets: 7306

One for the Timmy owners (and there's a few of us on here I believe)

I've never actually confirmed which positon is which on the three position toggle switch (different clipping options).

Anyone know for sure what's what, and which do you prefer?

I believe middle is symmetrical with the most headroom, top is asymmetrical where one side gets clipped more than the other, and bottom is symmetrical with both sides being clipped more.

I tend to run mine in the middle position but sometimes the I like the top option for a bit more grind, though the volume needs to be bumped up a little if you're doing it on the fly.

Only had mine a little while but I'm favouring middle and top too. The bottom setting is a bit too fuzzy for me. Still getting to know this pedal but its all good so far.

Yes the level does appear low especially compared to a lovepedal od11 that I have but I can get a good volume hike and not run above 3 o'clock

I find that with the gain on half, unity volume is also about half-way. With my Explorer (low/moderate output humbuckers) it's maybe 1pm, with the strat (single coils) about 12 noon. But the output volume is quite heavily influenced by the gain setting since it's so dynamic.
