Give me interesting pickup ideas!

I'm having second thoughts about my current project guitar, and am thinking about maybe going for different pups. What do you think would be a really interesting pickup configuration? I'm not sure what I want, as I kind of have perfection in my current guitar, so I'm looking for inspiration - something not too complex, I'm not looking for a million switches! I quite like a lot of variation in the available sounds, I once bought two matched BK piledrivers, but they were too similar for my tastes.

Either generic ideas or specific pups. Any suggestions?

Try a Harmonic Designs P90 in the bridge with a Lollatron in the neck.

A tele with a vintage trem. I was going to retain the 'teleness' with pups, but I may just go for something with interesting sounds and sod the tele look. Still deciding ....

Cowtron actually, bridge Cowtron and maybe a p90 neck. If you're feeling bonkers, anyway.

If not, Cowtron and a tele neck. I can't get over how amazing the Cowtron sounds, it's totally unique to off the shelf designs. I think it'd really suit a tele build sound wise, too.

For generic ideas, have you thought about using two standard humbuckers, but wiring one in series (standard) and the other in parallel?

For my prefered 'clean neck, overdriven bridge' sounds I would want the series one in the bridge, but if you prefer more a 'fat neck, bright bridge' set-up you'd want it the other way round.

if its humbuckers you're looking for,you won't go far wrong with a set of WCR God Woods,easily the best sounding pickups i've ever owned.

Personally, I'm determined to have a 'bucker in the bridge (possibly tapped) and a P90 in the neck. What configurations have you got at the moment, so we can choose something new for you?

I'm pretty decided now - Humbucker in the bridge, P90 neck, and I shall toy with a hidden pup under the scratchplate to see if it works.
