Wow, is it an 18 month wait list nowadays??

It was 25 weeks when i put my name down in October?  Did you just get in touch with Jesse?
No I already have mine, not to worry :) I was just curious. But I totally agree with gassage' post. The j20 will always sound like a j20, no matter which pedal you put in front of it.

Gassage, is the imperial comparable to a rambler?

Ah, was just curious where you got the 18months figure from as I ordered at the end of October and was told 25weeks.

I have only tried the 2 x 10 Rambler so not a fair comparison. Both fine amps- I felt the Imperial was better suited to my needs and cleaner and more BF'y.

    Gawd help us!

The easiest thing to do is get it from the horses mouth. Anyone interested can easily email Jesse who will reply fairly quickly or just ask on the Lazy J Facebook group which Jesse frequents most days. Simples.

So what's the deal with these? The thing missing from my amp collection is something Fender sounding, in a combo, that's small and takes pedals very well. 20-40w. I'm guessing a Lazy J is pretty much exactly that? Not worried about cost, just want something I'd never sell.

I've not got any direct experience, but my understanding is that they do the Fender Tweed sound very well, but aren't necessarily a great pedal platform.

I find mine a bit fussy pedal wise. Find something that works and you're good to go though.

  • Yep - I am happy with Thorpy Gunshot as my main LJ20 overdrive pedal. Think the issue with all amps is EQing to get the sound you like - best amp I have ever played IMHO!!! Enjoy

  • Have you tried the Cruiser Deuce through the J20 yet? Obviously that has been designed to be used with it however no EQ like the Gunshot has which is also great but then as mentioned the cruiser has already been tweaked to sound great with the J20

Gunshot into the J20 felt like a square peg into a round hole for me. That probably puts me in the minority though.
