Hair Loss

What's Hot
My hair has thinned to the point that I can't pretend it's not happening any more. I'm a bit depressed about it, not massively so, yet I hate anybody I see with a nice thick head of hair.

Anybody else going/gone through it? Any advice?

I feel a bit silly posting this, but it's kind of upsetting.

Mine's pretty thin/receded - my advice, don't give a fuck, there's plenty more important things to worry about.

Hair loss/thinning/receding is cosmetic, and nothing more.

Besides bald men are more virile.............

I lost mine in my 20's. I was slightly concerned at the time but as mike said there's more important things to worry about.
    Plus you save on shampoo.

Just don't try and disguise it , as then you'll look daft. Just keep what hair you have got nice and short.
I never even think about it anymore ;)

I think it's got a lot to do with it being the first sign of my ageing. Kind of depressed about wasting my youth, but I don't want that to stop me enjoying the life I have now.

    Stupid brain.

You came out bald so to my mind you're looking younger.

I started to lose mine when I was in my mid-thirty's. I now shave my head twice a week.   I was there before Satriani, however, I don't wear shades cause that would look silly on a man of my age.

After about 6 months I started to feel very uncomfortable and self-conscience if my hair grew back more than 3mm. So not only do you adapt, baldness becomes the new long hair :)

I went grey in my early 30s, so I didn't mind particularly when it started thinning out.
Mine's been a No.2 all over for years so nobody has ever really noticed that there isn't much left.

If it's any consolation regarding aging, I'm 49 now and have never been so popular with women of all ages, possibly because I've never before been so comfortable with who I am.

  • My hair takes its cue from the likes of John Tavener, or Lee Sklar ... significant area of baldness surrounded by hair as long as it was when I were a student. I get it cut as & when I can be bothered, no more often. The bald bit does piss me off but I can't do anything about it so I try not to care.

I've discussed hair loss on numerous occasions with those similarly affected. The conclusion is that there's not really anything that can be done about it without looking like a twat, so we ignore it. Obviously, if my hair decide to grow back, I'd welcome it, but as it ain't gonna happen, it's c'est la vie.

Just steer clear of a comb-over, cos that is just the pits.

Shave your bonnet completely or get a cool hat and don't worry about it.

Shave head properly, embrace it as it ain't coming back, get at least 2 cool hats.
Do not walk around with half a head of hair though.

  • Mine's been "thinning" for a couple of years, I'm 26.

    My advice: Who cares?

My other half doesn't like it when I've had a shaved head before, so I feel a bit unattractive with it short, even if I think I look better. Meh, what does she know, can't have good taste going for me in the first place!

Thankfully I haven't gone bald but I went grey then completely silver by the time I was 40. I'm like a fat Steve Martin.
