Commendable 2013 purchases: love the Squier Affinity Tele, very pleasantly surprised by them. Some of the colours are a bit naff (like the metallic blue ones!) but great guitars for beginners/semi-pros or even pros who want a Tele for the arsenal. Similarly with the Washburn. I also have been impressed by the Carson cables.

What will I be chucking and changing in 2014? The pedal case no doubt! It's a heap of shit.

2014 Resolution: probably buy/change pedals and board, and maybe a new capo, and get my Vintage Icon and Epiphones fixed up and fitted out again rather than buying new guitars.

@Kebabkid the Duesenberg for me was a mixed bag, hence buying it and selling it within the year. I bought it new from SoundAffects without ever playing one and just going by internet reviews...that's proper GAS for you!

The goods were that it looked great, everyone commented on how cool it looked, soundwise it was top notch, those Duesenberg pickups are excellent, the trem unit (another Duesenberg design) is easily the nicest feeling trem I've ever used and it holds tune well and finally all the hardware has a really quality feel.

The bads for me were around the playability, the neck is a smallish C, I prefer fatter profiles, and it was covered in a quite plasticky feeling poly finish. Also I feel that the scale length (25.5) should be made shorter (ie Gibson length) because I discovered due to the way the guitar hangs on a strap when you are playing open position chords you are reaching out your arm a lot more than on other guitars which led to me getting hand cramps from the unusual (to me) angle. The string tension was also pretty high before I dropped from the stock 10s to 9s so dropping scale length would help too. 

So there you have it, it had the tone, looks and decent hardware but I just found it uncomfortable to play...thankfully it opened my eyes to semi-hollows and that is why I got the 335 which I am happy with!

As best as I can remember these were all bought/sold during 2013.  

This has been a recording GAS year more than anything.  Guitar wise I've been consolidating into stuff that works for me and dumping the stuff that I wasn't using or was lower quality.  Oh and a load of stuff was robbed from my car boot in summer including some musical gear!

I'm sick of spending the time buying and selling stuff, nearly everything on the IN list was bought s/h too which takes a lot of time checking ebay/gumtree/forums/second hand sections of websites.  Then you have to include the amount of time I spend researching things before purchase, and the amount of time I've spent driving to other cities to pick things up.  

Earlier in the year I vowed to only buy stuff that A) I need, and that works for what I need, and C) is at a price I'm happy to pay - doesn't matter if it is new or used, so long as it is worth it versus what else I could have within my budget taking into account my requirements.  If nothing I can afford fits my requirements then I'm not buying until I can afford or find something that will work.  Such is the theory.
