  • Impressive journey time, well done sir.

I am tucked up in my lovely hotel room bed.  Mrs F is still in the O2.  Nine hours of wandering around a freezing cold O2 and getting charged three quid for half a sausage roll is not fun.  £1.60 for a small bottle of pop?!  Fuck me!  Still, that canary dwarf thing looks impressive in the fog, as does the Citibank building and the other twinkly towering temples of capitalism.

I don't know where that cable car thing goes though....  Or what the "Emirates aviation experience" is.

Everything is so expensive up here compared to sheepshaggerville.  I fully expect dinner tonight will cost me... ….one million pounds.

Holy crap. Fifty two quid (inc a "discretionary" 12.5% 'service charge') for Chinese sit down.  How the hell do people live up here?  Are they all sat indoors eating beans on toast, or is everyone on £50K+ ?

    Mostly.

But they wouldn't think of themselves as being well-off, for the reasons that you've just experienced.  London is, in many respects, a different country.

London isn't really "up" from Swansea. Just being a pedantic bastard.

I think you'll find that as I live about 12 inches above sea level, pretty much everywhere is 'up' from Swansea.  Pedant-check-mate, I think you'll find.

The devil is in the detail...  we're talking inches I know, but I reckon the O2 is higher above sea level than my house.  In fact... I'm going to check.

HA !!  0.14 degrees further SOUTH than my house.  I win, because that's what I meant in the first place.

Oh... hang on...  that means the O2 is down latitudinally and altitudinally.  If that word existed.

    Bollocks.

    Holnrew earlier today.

As for the £52....  that was 2 x hot & sour soups to start, 1 chicken in black bean sauce, 1 tofu in god knows what, 1 egg fried rice, 1 special fried rice, 3 pepsis, a bottle of Chinese lager and two pints of Stella... and 12.5% 'service' on top.

Today, I happened to be getting in the car which I had parked behind the Chinese restaurant and noticed one of the chefs standing by the bins for a few moments, then putting his hands under his apron and appearing to move his hands in a motion similar to that used when putting your dick away and zipping up your fly.  He then went back in the kitchen.  I walked over to the bin and sure enough... the dirty fucker had taken a piss on the floor underneath his apron.  I doubt he will have washed his hands when he went back in either.
