I would like to assert my rights under the trademark infringement laws.

As I am sure you're aware, I own the Soul Food Cafe and Internet Centre in Hanley, near Stoke on Trent. and I am concerned that anyone attempting to eat your pedal will believe we baked it. If they damaged a tooth on your hard casing, we could be held responsible by vicarious action.

Please cease and desist.

I'd be more sympathetic with EHX if the pedal was more of a clone but it clearly does something extra,  that said if they want to protect their use of the term muff I don't hate them for it.      

I do hate them for making shitty quality pedals that break so my boycott will continue and I hope you get some extra publicity so you can you point out that thorpy pedal are great quality.

Peoe defenately associate the name with the sound of a pedal. Muffroom cloud gives the impression of a massive fat fuzz, which from what I've heard, it sure is.
If you switch to "funny name here" people may not take the pedal seriously, like for instance all those vagina looking guitar pedals. Brilliant, but they will never be known for their sound.

It would be a shame for a provocative name to take the spotlight as opposed to amazing sound, build quality and looks.

Whatever you do though, milk this for all you can press wise

I am massively onboard with everything you have said here. So.... we have chosen the new name for the pedal, it evokes the same kind of imagery as muffroom cloud, no funny puns, no fanny puns and definitely nothing another company can get mad about. The  name was suggested by a certain @Gassage and its a corker so I'm very happy. I can't reveal it yet...... all in good time.
