Never seen Citizen Kane or It's A Wonderful Life.

Apart from Psycho, I've never seen a Hitchcock film all the way through either - I just don't think they're as brilliant as they're made out to be and end up switching over/off or falling asleep after half an hour.   Totally unnaceptable for someone who considers themselves to be a film fan, like me.

@johnnyurq - you've not missed anything with Adam Sandler - I can't think of a decent film he's been in.....

West side story, Citizen Kane, Gone with the Wind, Psycho, Scarface. Actually loads and loads the more I think about it. I got a Hitchcock film box set as a present a few years back so no excuses for not seeing Psycho really.
And plus one on Adam Sandler.

    It's A Wonderful Life
    Scarface
    Titanic
    Rambo (any part)
    Rocky (any part)
Any Aliens after the first one
    Any Tarantino after Pulp Fiction
Anything with Nicholas Cage in it apart from Raising Arizona

Mostly on purpose apart from the first two...

  • I've never seen that film with two women and a polystyrene cup.
I also agree with @jd0272. ; Dead Man's Shoe is a great film.  Some really graphic violence despite the poignancy.

Here.... how's about this for an idea....  a Fretboard Cinema Club Night.  We look at the lists of notable fillums that people haven't seen, then pick one that we should all watch one night and then rip it to pieces / cry with epiphanic joy the next day.

Everyone being (legally) able to get hold of the fillums might be something we'd need to examine, but I'm sure there are non-subscription, pay as you go type streaming film sites out there surely ?

I've got a warm fuzzy feeling suggesting this, as it would be a nice thing to do as a community, separated as we are by digital noughts and ones.

Too true @RobDavies and the last film of his I watched was either the Wedding Singer or Mr Deeds with the kids many moons ago.

Sandler and Murphy consistently score high in the least value for their fee polls too.

  • Probably many, but off the top of my head.

Eyes Wide Shut and Dr Stranglelove, considering how much I like Kubrick's other films, I should be kicking myself.

    The first 2 Godfather films.

    The French Connection films.

Oh well, best get the credit card out again.

I haven't seen Eyes Wide Shut - I've tried a couple of times, but both times fell asleep after the first half hour.

Dr. Strangelove is one of the greatest films ever made and a must-see even now.

Likewise the first two Godfathers - I watched the first one again recently in HD and it's stunning how good the photography is - incredibly real and lifelike, it makes almost every other film I've ever seen seem a bit unrealistic.

That would be "Eyes Firmly Shut" for you then @ICBM.

Seriously though, I am going to get on Amazon shortly. They must be seen.

    The Goonies.
Absolutely everyone I know has seen it so it kind of feels like a little bit of my childhood is missing :-(
The good thing is I've now got kids of my own so plan on watching it with them sometime.
