I love my amp I do, but I have "the itch" again. What experience or thoughts do you guys have on the Hagen or Herbert?
I have a friend who has a Hagen but he is after a real tech metal tone, I'm into more of a grunge, ambient, post rock kinda sound. I've currently got a SloClone and had a Dual Rec before so that ball park is where I usually go.

Cheers.

The Herbert is a great amp - a really nice piece of work. Tone wise it's very versatile but it's quite precise and brutal in its delivery. It'll be noticeably more aggressive than a Dual Rec. channel 2 boost on is a really great tone....cleans might lack a bit of character for some.. All IMHO!

It's maybe too much of a metal amp really, but when I listen to them online they sound great. The clean maybe is lacking and that's kinda what I was looking for, people who've played them and came to the same conclusion.

  • I'd talk to the guys at Tone World. Diesel built their counter (seriously!) They are experts on these amps.
