Song suggestions for 3 piece.

bobblehatbobblehat Frets: 541
I appreciate I am being a little lazy here but I am after some song suggestions.

Just started a new band and my old set list is looking a little tired!
Current set list is mainly 60's garage , 80's/90's indie rock/pop. so we would like to continue in that vain.
Being a 3 piece does limit our song choices a little.eg. mulitple guitar parts, keyboards and long solos are something of a challenge.

Open to most ideas but please don't suggest anything starting with the phrase  "Rocked up".

Cheers

I play in a 3 piece and things can sound a little empty at times so what I do is record some bits into one of those SPD sampler pads and I just discreetly trigger it with my feet. So when I go into a solo I've got some backing behind me, just changing chords with my foot. There's 6 pads, that's enough for most songs and I've got each song in it's own patch. Very effective way of beefing up a 3 piece

Not sure whether this is too "rocked up" or not, but ... Good Idea by Sugar / Bob Mould

I love this video as an example of how "full" a three-piece band can sound:

    Random thoughts:

Anything by The Sonics (if you ignore the sax) B-) although they may be on your existing list. Anything by the Sex Pistols works with one guitar, Nirvana stuff if you're moving into the 90s. Anything by the 5678s, although Woo Hoo is their well known one.

If you don't mind doing some more recent stuff, The Hives' Tick Tick Boom would work well in a 3 piece

I was trying to do a 3 peice plus vocalist type band a couple of years ago and that was on our list. Lot of Dr Feelgood and that kind of stuff but that fitted in nicely.

The Sonics "The Hustler" and "Have love will travel" already in the set.

Good shout with the Hives, forgot about them great band already have The strokes in the set so a good match.

That Bob Mould track is excellent, never heard that before.

I have a feeling we've had this conversation before but I knew The Hustler through the Alvin Youngblood Hart version. Fairly much the same but there's a short wah solo, IIRC his thinking was The Sonics came from Seattle, Hendrix came from Seattle so this should fit (and it does).

A fair amount of blurs back catalogue should be doable

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
