MIJ Fender basses/ CV Squier Basses

So, what's the best source for 2nd hand Fender Japan basses? I've tried ebay, but there aren't many choices. I'm specifically looking for P basses.

Second option is going for a CV Squier bass but the choices seem rather limited for P basses, apparently only a black 70's P bass available new these days and it's almost impossible to find 2nd hand. I remember Squier used to have two lovely options in fiesta red and sonic blue but no more?

Any particular reason you're not also considering a Mexican Fender?  Some of the ones I've played have been very good.

I had one recent mexican P bass which was quite lovely and I haven' ruled them out. Depending on the outcome of my research I may in fact just go for one but wanted to check other options first.

I can't really speak for the P basses but the CV Jazz is a marvellous bass.  I've got one and it's bloody LOVELY!

As already mentioned by @guitarfishbay  Basschat is a great place to find MIJ stuff. It's almost as much fun hanging out there as here actually

I meant to say, my No1 bass for the last 15 years has been a MIJ Fender Jazzbass "Geddy Lee" model, I love Japanese Fenders.

They're both good. The mij & cij have slightly bigger necks, CVs can feel skinny to some

If you are still looking, don't forget to check out Squier VM series. Bang-for-buck I find them to be better than some MIM Fenders.

1990s Japanese Fenders are the best; good wood, not heavy, cheap enough. I used a '90s Jazz on a major tour, nothing ever went wrong and it sounded great.
