Does anyone know how it performs at loud stage volumes? As in loud drummer, earplugs in type gigs? This is the primary consideration from my perspective.
This. I had a Line 6 a long while ago which sounded great at 'bedroom' levels but naff at proper gig volume.

Anyone gigged one un-mic'd against a loud drummer? How does it compare to home levels? Still as good? Does it still have the feel/harmonics of a great valve amp that's cooking?

Could be a gamechanger/excellent spate of so.

I've rehearsed mine with with a drummer, keys and full horn section. Still sounded great. Also used on a Jazz gig with no bother. I'd still rather take a valve amp doing the sort of stuff you do though Neil.

Warren two weeks ago I went to the best band in Liverpool for the second time in a month.

The Coral had two of these Rolands on stage and sounded superb.

If they are good enough for James Skelly and Paul Molloy I should also pick one up.

Just got back from rehearsal using the Stage for the first time and I'd say it's certainly loud enough to hang with an enthusiastic drummer (I had it on the 45w setting so there was still plenty left in the tank). It sounded better to me wound up a bit than it did at home volume, and I have to admit to being a little underwhelmed when I first plugged it in at home. When pushed a bit it sounded and behaved like a good valve amp - most impressive.
My previous rehearsal/festival amp was a Tech 21 TM60 and I would definitely class the Blues Cube Stage several rungs above that. We have a pub gig this weekend so the MJW will see some action there, but for the following two weekends we're playing festivals and I reckon the Blues Cube has the job.

Nothing shocking really mate, valve amps suck at home volume. I've always preferred solid state at home.

THIS. ROLAND CUBES ARE WELL KNOWN HOME PRACTICE AMPS TOO. SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK

The Blues Cube is very different to the old cubes.

Have you tried the cube with pedals? I'm working wondering if it's possible to get Marshall type crunch using stomp boxes.

I've got the Ultimate Blues thingy but I haven't actually got round to plugging it in yet. I'll give it a whirl next week and report back.

Does this amp have a valve power section?

I only ask because it seems bit weird to have a wattage selection if nothing is being pushed harder or whatever??

Yes, I thought that was weird too - as if it was modelled power scaling, or power scaling on an SS amp...

No valves.... And the power scaling is awesome.

How does the power scaling work? Surely turning the volume down is exactly the same with it being SS?
I'm assuming they've modelled that also.
