Originally a Jensen 40 Watt 8 Ohm speaker was probably the stock one. This YGM-3 had had several mods (improvements?!?) carried out on it by the previous owner it does sound glorious though and hasn't had any issues. I'll try it with an 8 Ohm V30 and report back.

Stock speaker would have been a Marsland alnico.  Despite the reviews, they're actually very sweet sounding but woefully inefficient so were often dumped for something louder.

I think the reissued YGM3 has/had a Jensen and would be a good match for a Fender-y vibe.  When I bought mine, it had an Emi Red Fang alnico installed and it was epic, especially with the back off the amp.

The Greenback was in there when I bought the amp so I don't know why it's a 16. I can't imagine a tough old Traynor being too troubled by that, though.

There are two tiny mods and every YGM-3 should have them: one cap switched to a different value to tighten up the bottom end, and another removed to de-spike the top end. 

I've just replaced the Marsland in my new one for a Cannabis Rex, which sounds lush. If anyone wants an original Marsland, let me know.

I have just dropped a spare 8 Ohm V30 in and shall give it a blast at tomorrow's rehearsal. Initial impression is tighter bass and certainly louder which is only to be expected.
