DanRDanR Frets: 1041
edited June 2016 in Acoustics
So been thinking of an acoustic for awhile so popped down to Sound Affects and spent about three hours going between Taylor and Martin.

Narrowed it down to either a Taylor 322 or a Martin 000-15.

Both sounded and played very nice but the Martin felt a bit fuller.

So I came away with it and spent the last 4 hours noodling on it while watching iZombie on Netflix.

    iZombie is awesome.
Matin 000-15s (and OM-types in general) are great.
    Great GASsing!

I'd like a nice Martin at some point.
    My acoustic history:
    - Argos nylon job (1st guitar)
    - Little Martin (sold)
    - Larrivee OM-02

Think we're pretty similar. I could get by the rest of my life with my PRS and an acoustic.

I've had a couple of acoustics but they were all a fair bit bigger and I couldn't get comfy with them.

I'm not sure I'd get by with one electric & acoustic.

I've considered cutting down but it would probably be to 3 electrics and 1 acoustic.

I played one these in Sounds Great and really liked it.
The bass notes seemed more resonant, maybe a result of the 12th fret join.
    HNGD.

I once had a go on a Taylor 322 and have coveted one ever since. Moreover I've never played a Martin that I could get on with. That said, little acoustics are dead sweet and very cool, and yours looks very cool indeed. I hope you get years of pleasure from it :)

My preference is Koa as its a bit brighter than Mahogany but not to the same extent as Spruce.

I can't justify the up charge Koa acoustics appear to command.

Lovely guitars, they have that awesome dry vintage sound. Very characterful.

That's a lovely looking guitar. I find those mohogany bodied guitars very pleasing to look at.
