    Haha, nice reply ;-)

It'll depend on work if I can come, had some major changes here and don't know yet if i'll be on call then,

Can't do Aug 13th and one of the July dates is sketchy. But we had fun last time when Phil pulled it all togather so I'm pretty game.
@esblonde Which Jul date would work for you?

I'm guessing Aug will be out for many, due to holidays etc, so perhaps we just focus on one of the Jul dates and go for it.
A quick look at my social calender shows I'm likely OK at the end of July until herself fills the dates ;-)

6th August is also currently free.

I've booked the hall for the 6th August from around 3:30pm until around 10pm. Can probably be a bit flexible with those times if need be.

    Thanks @handsomerik

Do people want to just turn up and "play it by ear" or are there a few tracks that we could maybe aim to prepare beforehand and try to play on the day?

The playing stuff isn't obligatory - just a bit of extra interest.

It looks like we'll have a drummer and a bassist, so we'd just need to find a guitarist or two.  Or three.  Or four.  Or ...

    Suggestions please ...

Fanx mate. I know where that is :)

Parking is "not bad", and the side entrance is best for trolleying stuff in/out. The stage is typical wood, Gramma Pads recommended especially for bass. Power sockets are somewhat scarce - bring plenty of mains extenders ;)

Nearest food to there is, I think, Debenham. Nice chippy, & 2 pubs where you can eat, on the main drag, and an Indian Takeaway on Gracechurch Street past the school, in the Sports complex.

That will probably deliver to Crowfield village hall.

I can probably sort out a tray or two of soft drinks (ie Coke, Sprite, whatever) from Makro to help wash the curries down.

    So, who's bringing what gear?

And do we want to prep anything to play?  At the Knackkered Jack meet-up in Leicester, we did prep some tracks beforehand, and that seemed to work well - at least we played something recognisable rather than just 10mins of Blues in E.

So, any suggestions for stuff to play??

If I'm drumming I'd definitely like to have an idea of some songs, rather than holding down a 4/4 beat for eternity.

I only have one drum kit, which is a Gretsch 4 piece in rock sizes (24/16/13/14)- not loads of drums but they are bigger sizes- I won't bash away at it and drown you all out.

How about 'Testify' by RATM then that would be a fun tune.
Nice big riff for everyone to lock into, not super busy and and not too many sections.

I also suggest "Mob Goes Wild' by Clutch- same sort of deal, high energy, big riff, simple changes.

Layla is a good jam tune as well- distinct changes, everyone knows it.

I'm fine with most other things but don't expect me to be playing complex polyrhythm stuff- I'm not that kind of drummer.

I have previously asked about that. What would you like?

Stuff I have that I could predict being useful:

    • Kustom 100W powered wedge monitor
    • bass rig = Selmer T'n'B50 & Marshall 4x15 cab loaded with 2 original drivers and 2 x 10" Celestion BG80s
    • AC30CC2X
    • Bluesbreaker (late 1980s reissue)
    • Mics = SM57, SM68
    • 2 off mic stands
    • Carlsbro 90W keyboard combo
    • Marshall AS50D acoustic combo
I intend bringing one or two guitars and my pedalboard.

I'm guessing that the keyboard & acoustic combos wouldn't get a lot of use @Phil_aka_Pip - unless anyone thinks differently?

Have we got any singers coming along?

I'm more interested in hearing/seeing/lending gear and gear blather than a jam session but happy to play anything/style, just gimme chords.

Gear, 70s Champ, not very exotic but can bring a Blues Deluxe if any use. Klemt head though valves are poss tired.

Probably bring Greco 335 and a Tele, just to waggle a Bigsby in Phil's general direction as often as poss :)

I'm being optimistic. Optimistic as in I hope there will be people willing and able to use this stuff and give us all a break from endless electric guitars. Hell, I don't even like playing much with other guitarists (Ritchie Blackmore said "One is enough for any band"), my ideal band has me as the guitarist, with a drummer, bass player, and keys man ... unless the other guitarist is also a  Wishbone Ash freak, that would be totally different!

If anyone wants to try any of my pedals drop me a line. Even if I can't make it then either@photek or @SimonBeckwith can collect and bring it with them.

I'll put a list up at some point.

Ringleader of the Cambridge cartel, pedal champ and king of the dirt boxes (down to 21)
