I was digging around some old CDs when I found some demos I recorded with a band back in 1996. I was pleasantly surprised when I played this one back. It's an up-tempo rock track with some funky stuff thrown in. It was one of the very first songs I ever wrote, music and lyrics, and was chuffed when the rest of the guys liked it too. I was on a major Jeff Healey kick at the time which you can hear in the solo (around 2.02) which was first take. If I remember, I did do a few others but they weren't anything like this one. It's nice to hear your playing from such a long time ago. Quite like the riff at the end of the chorus.

Listening to it, with no preconceptions or anything, that's really not too bad.  My favourite bit of the arrangement is the way that power chord on the verses just hangs... I like the space it leaves as the clean guitar is more up front... I quite got into that.

1996 -- that's a while back!  But not too shabby at all. :)

  • That's quite tidy :)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
