A tip (if you don't already do this) if you're trying to work out a bass part by listening to a song and playing along - play it an octave higher than the actual part and it's a lot easier to hear if you're right or not.

@axisus Thanks! Believe it or not, it's the front-facing camera on my Samsung Galaxy S6. No other processing other than a mild Instagram filter.

I like my hair in that one It might be getting a bit long though, may need to get it cut soon.

Another slight variant on the octave trick - play the original track an octave higher whilst learning it. Makes it much, much easier to discern what the bass is doing.
