My who-what-nows? Ah - googled it.

I believe that is strongly counter-indicated by the hire agreement.

One of the neighbours has raided the skip (after asking and being given permission). So I threw out more stuff. So liberating. Everyone should have a skip. I'll miss it when it's gone.

He might want the old shed too, depending on the state it's in once the groundworks people have had at it. That'd save a chunk in disposal fees.

Its always nice to have a good clean out but 9/10 i thrown shit away and within a few weeks find that i or someone else will require just the kind of things ive thrown out and they will then have to be purchased again for no doubt silly money ;)

Too late now - they just took the skip away. :D

I hereby give permission for anyone who wants it to remove it from the skip. Same goes for all the other crap in there - two mowers, a strimmer, a barbecue, patio furniture set...
Strange thing about skips is that when you've filled it, it's still full the next morning - but all the stuff you put in it has gone and other stuff has arrived.

I feel a bit cheated that it didn't contain a mattress at any point.

Do the pro workshop chaps "discuss" their pricing, or is it a case of what-you-see-is-what-you-pay?

Plus I'm 14 miles outside their free delivery/installation radius.

I got the strong impression that discussion was not to be discussed.

But I don't think 14 miles would phase them, they've been helpful and reasonably accommodating - though it's clear that their ranges don't cross over. If you're interested you'd be welcome to help me install all the ducting come and see mine once it's in - end of the month.

    Meet me halfway?

If all goes to plan, contract & stuff, I'm going to have no workshop in a few weeks.  I'm going to lose my 10' x 10' manspace, a carefully undesigned space that is crammed full of so much stuff that there's barely room to swing a something quite small.
    :(

But I will have a 45' x 20' concrete slab with water, power & waste* all connected and ready to go.
    :)

And, more importantly, permission to use aforementioned concrete slab for something workshop-ish.

You could leave with a chopsaw, pillar drill and extraction system...

They didn't go in the skip ???

Mmmmm.  Tempting.  I'd have to make the journey in a bigger vey-ickle, but I happen to have one of those.

No; the only working things that did were a Flymo, a strimmer and a Dyson, and the neighbour took all of those.

I can make use of the pillar drill - handy to have two - but the others will be or have been replaced.

I've learnt enough from Kevin McCloud to know this project needs an animated 3D model and a pregnancy.
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

Well, Lady BMcH did look out of the kitchen window at one point and shout "Winter's coming and the roof isn't on!" so we've got that Grand Designs thing working already.

Got to remember to shout "It's a triumph!" when it's all done. :)

Sprocket did junk-punch one of the groundwork guys. He took it like a trooper.

BANG! And the shed is gone (reportedly, I'm in the office) and in my neighbour's back garden for him to deal with.

I think that's Game of Thrones rather than Grand Designs ;-)

A man of your technical means should be able to sort us out with a live webcam feed so that we can watch the excitement too :-)
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

I should be able to do a lot of things.

And GD has a pretty standard script line of "They're massively over budget (true), there's no project manager (true), winter's coming (true) and the roof isn't on (true)", so I expect Kevin McCloud (of the clan McCloud?) to arrive at any minute.
