Been seeing Timelines coming up for sale lately. So, recognising the signs of GAS, I'm thinking about getting one. However, can someone give me a situation that one would need to have so many delay sounds? I do have and El Capistan already but this will probably go if I do get a Timeline. What's peoples preferences and usages of these products out of interest?

For me, number of simultaneous delays is more important than a massive wide range of them, particularly in a guitar rig. If Strymon could do an M13 killer, then I'd be interested.

Thats what I think really. Who would need nearly 200 presets of delays. I can see a possibility of having maybe 10 at the very most when performing live. Just seems overkill really which you pay for

I'm all about delay and when I had a timefactor I found I could get everything I wanted live with three presets - a modulated digital delay with few repeats, an analogue delay with repeats that wash away into the background, and a delay that repeats forever without going into self-oscillation.

Apart from that, it's just a matter of tap-tempoing them on a song by song basis. The only reason I'd want more preset slots would be to save tempos as well in say a midi controlled setup.

Yes I do see what you mean. Im looking at some online demos and you rally can do anything that you want or want to do in the future. Quite a creative tool

Of course I've totally overlooked the MIDI element. So that would mean I could use a patch/preset on the Timeline that would call up an effect on my Mobius when I selected if connected by a midi cable etc? If so, brilliant

Read the MIDI section of both manuals very thoroughly. Anything you don't understand, google! You can do a lot with midi but you need to be aware of the conventions - PC, CC, channel, in/out/through etc.

Ok can I just clarify with you guys who use the möbius and timelines this way. I don't want a switching system to select midi patches. I want to select a möbius fx but add some delay from the timeline for example. Whilst these 2 things are selected if I now save to a preset on the möbius or timeline will this combination of fx be called up again when I select that particular preset later? If the Timeline is on/available of course

There's nothing online that I can find that doesn't use some kind of switching system like the gigrig's G2 to do this saving process. Which is way overboard what I need

Apparently yes this is exactly what happens. Just spoke to Strymon's support about it.

Now, have to try and find myself a Timeline at a good price. Damn things aren't cheap are they

Now here's a thought, to run it with two amps into two effects loops....how on earth do you do that or am I being thick?

would it be;

AMP 1     AMP 2

R in and L out R out and L in

or

AMP 1     AMP 2

R in and R out L out and L in

Or do you just run it in front of the amps?
