Tele (or copy) with belly cut

What's Hot

Hello folks,

Quick Q if I may? What Teles have a belly cut/rear contour as standard? I am led to believe the 2012 + USA Deluxes do, but what else that you can buy off the self has a contour?  Copies are fine too.  I'm talking about off the shelf stuff really.

Thanks,

Tom

    Yam Pacifica's, maybe..?
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

The Fender Kotzen Tele has a belly cut and a forearm contour as well.

So quite a lot of the Fenders do now then? Is the Modern player the cheapest? Not all of the teles on Fender's site have a 360 picture, and none seem to mention it in the description annoyingly!

    Pah.

Teles with a belly are definitely better.

Ones that I have tried or owned are the fender modern player, or the Fret King blue label Super S/Super T both of which have both tummy cut and arm relief like a Strat. The Fret King was very comfortable to play.

Just to clarify, both of the Fret kings have arm relief, not the modern player.

Do people generally rate Fret Kings? I've had very little involvement in them...

Even new, you can pick up new examples from shops on Ebay for very little. The blue labels especially, since the black labels came out they seem to be blowing out the blue labels... which is crazy, since on paper the blue labels have a higher spec (I haven't tried any black labels).

Mine's a nice guitar. I should say that my strat-alike from them the neck pocket (or the neck) seems to be slightly slanted (which I didn't notice when I got it). Should be easily fixed with a stragically-placed shim, I think. Other than that they're pretty nice, the blue labels anyway, gotoh hardware and all. the electronics (as on most cheaper guitars) are probably the weak link. and the pickups are satisfactory but not terribly exciting.

You'd need a bigger belly cut than that one Taff :P

Your right of course though - I just hang my gut over the top of the guitar
