TELL ME WHICH EXPRESSION PEDAL TO BUY!!!

PLEASE!!!

- this is experimental, I really can't say if it will be something I will get a lot of use out of so cheap as possible, long term sturdiness not a big issue. It will be off my pedal board, if that makes a difference.

- if it doesn't come with a cable then what do I need, is it just a guitar cable?

- this is for my tc X4 delay for a couple of trippy endings.

- I am assuming this will be a passive device that I can plonk on the floor somewhere convenient, plug into the X4 and go.Or is that not how it works?

- I have the X4 instructions on how to set up expression pedal parameters so that bit should be okay ( famous last words).

- I don't need it to work as a volume pedal. However, if it does then that might be a bonus if I get fed up of going booooiiinnnggg, boooooiiinnggg,booooiiinnnggg,booooiiinnnggg...

- from googling quite liking the Moog EP-3 but I honestly don't know if that's the right thing or not!

get the moog you mention, or the roland rv-5

the rolands are always on ebay and its all ready to go with inbuilt cable

..... but do a quick websearch first to check its ok with the tc x4! it works 100% fine with all my 'normal' exp pedal inputs

Cheers. TC don't seem to reccomend a pedal but in googling this I found someone who seemed to have used the Roland RV 5 ( wasn't 100% clear) and someone else who used the Moog EP-2, which seems to have been replaced with the EP -3 which seems to be a generally better built pedal. The EP-3 is relatively cheap on Thomann so I guess I could just send it back if it doesn't work.

the VP Jr is on the pricey side for something experimental so unless you are feeling charitable...

The Moog ep-3 is quite new and generally put of stock but even with p and p hugely cheaper from Thomann than UK dealers so I might pre order from them if nothing turns up cheap as chips on eBay.

I do have one that I never use. Would have to be a moronically simple process though for me to do it!

  • For an expression pedal, I've had the best luck with an EV-5 over the years...shame it's so lightweight. I always use a EB VP Jr for volume duties.
