There are some great telecaster/bassman tones in the second half of this show. All very laid back. I think it might be quite nice to play in a band like this... they don't look like they get too stressed out. :)

Rocking rockingness of the old unrecontructed rocking sort. I have a love hate thing with this band... but hat's off to them as a live band. :)

The new Keef album Cross-eyed Heart. Slightly rough around the edges which gives it a certain charm. Loving it.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

That was pretty cool. Mutemath are cool. Not sure about the new album. But I know their lighting designer, and he loves it (of course he would, he works for the band, he promised me that it was 1000 times better than Odd Soul but I'm indifferent).

I don't mind a bit of Irish girlie pop

  • "Just Backward Of Square" by Lowgold. A forgotten gem of an album; with hindsight it was a huge influence on me. Pretty sure it's the reason I love Fender Mustangs, and has well and truly made me want an ebow again.

After listening to a fair amount of the new music posted on here in the last few days I was feeling overwhelmed by it's lack of joy and energy - I'm okay with individual songs but there's a lot of music being made in the 21st century by people who don't want to let their hair down based on that sample. So, today is a Quo day. I don't even particularly like the Quo but so far it's hitting the spot. \m/

Saw Moose Blood supporting Lower Than Atlantis and they were great live. Check out the album - great songs and great guitar sounds!

  • In a sale today I got...

Madina Lake "From them, through us, to you"

    Tokio Hotel "Scream"

    Circus Maximus "Isolate"

I am looking forward to hearing all of them in full. I remember "House of Cards" by Madina Lake used to be all over Kerrang/Scuzz on Sky tv in the time I spent in the UK. It's a great song. And the same with Tokio Hotel's "Ready Set Go", and I enjoy playing "Monsoon" on Guitar Hero :) I haven't heard much Circus Maximus, but what I've heard, I've liked so I guess it's time to pump that up a few decibels and see what happens.

Watched a bit of that, it's fantastically awkward television. Brilliant. :)
