Don't be fooled by the gentle intro, it takes off into a monster instrumental with some cool guitar from Richard Thompson.

Yesterday, I was listening to the 3rd Billy Talent Album "Billy Talent III" in the car.

I forgot how much I like them and I'm glad they're coming out with a new album in July. Their guitarist, Ian D'Sa is a very clever guitarist IMHO. Not because he's musically knowledgable (you can tell when you listen to him talk in the below video) but because what he does, in the context of what the rest of the band do, for one guitarist is really cool and gives them a really interesting vibe especially in the song he talks about in this video:

Cheers Jez. Thanks for taking the time to give me the pointers. I'll check those records out. I am an admirer of Mick Ronson as well..

    ABBA.

Wife has the CD. Greatest hits... Pfft. ABBA are overrated, shit. My headache is quickly worsening

Had this discussion with a mate recently. The revisionist view of ABBA appears to be that they are up there with the greatest song writers of all time and made genius pop records.

I hated them at the time - was about 9 when they won Eurovision - even at a very young age they seemed trite to me.

    Time hasn't altered my opinion.

    "Trash" by Alice Cooper.

Not the greatest of all of his albums, but it's solid for a 'comeback' album. Had been wanting to get this album for a while and glad I finally did.

This soppy love song. The other people at the exhibition seemed less taken with it.

    The Butterfly Effect.
The last album they released, Final Conversation of Kings.
Good background music. Nothing overly exciting... I'll have to pick something else for the drive home to keep me awake!

    The new Cheap Trick album.

Actually, rather impressed. Now there's one band who haven't lost their way through their career. :)

Phil X also needs to do a whole album of the covers from the end of his videos. This is really cool - the original song, I don't like, but this cover is really cool

No Spill Blood, which Spotify suggested after the Vennart album. They're jolly groovy.

    I quite like that.

Reminds me of Rammstein, but with less understandable lyrics.
