Best Combo amp for £1,000 or less

I have a £1,000 to spend and looking for a combo at this price or less 

I play mostly Blues so  lovely cleans are essential 

I have looked at a Fender Bass Breaker 18/30w so far

Has to be a Hot Rod or Blues Deluxe really.

I have an 18/30 and it's very nice indeed, but it isn't as good as the Hot Rod and Blues Deluxes I had before.  A '68 Custom Twin sounds epic, but you need a carefully chosen drive pedal unless you are playing a stadium. Oh and a fork lift to move it around.

This. I was beginning to think I was sounding like a stuck record! S/H Bad Cat's are the best bang for buck you can buy (apart from the 2x12 Black Cat in the classifieds ;-) ) Amazing amps.

+1 on the BadCat love-in. I assume the USA Player Series Cubs will be under 1k when they hit the used market - that's got to be one of the best deals you could possible get.

Blues deluxe, bought one in October. Eminence swamp thang upgrade and upgraded preamp tubes, it sounds superb for blues.

For straight up blues I'd look for a 5f4 tweed super style amp. An original late 50s one might be out of the q but for a grand I reckon you'd find a decent replica / built kit.

I have mused this greatly.

My conclusion is a low powered SF Pro Reverb which is easily within your budget.
